Inalsa appoints a commission of five technicians and lawyers to analyze the Janubio desalination plant case

The lawyers Marcial Francisco Hernández Cabrera, Esteban Cabrera Perdomo, Octavio Topham Camejo, Ignacio Calatayud Prats and the Cabildo official, José Juan Hernández Duchernin will be in charge of analyzing the situation generated as a result of the award issued against Inalsa, preparing a report and presenting conclusions to the Board of Directors of the public water company "as soon as possible". All of them are "professionals linked to the world of law and well known in Lanzarote", as Mario Pérez, CEO of Inalsa, has described them. "They have sufficient capacity to discern what things have been done properly and what things have not, so I think they are going to help us a lot," said the councilor.

Once the Board of Directors knows the conclusions drawn up by this Commission, this information will be transferred to the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the City Councils of the Island, according to Pérez.

Inalsa is going through a delicate situation after a few days ago the arbitration award was known that forces the company to pay almost ten million euros to the company Edam Janubio as compensation for damages for breach of contract for the construction and operation of the Janubio desalination plant, signed more than five years ago.
