The president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, has signed a decree redistributing some key areas of government, personally assuming new powers and also delegating another of those she held until now.

One of the main changes involves leaving the Department of Social Welfare in the hands of Isabel Martín, which until now was managed by Marcos Bergaz. Corujo had already withdrawn another area from this same councilor in May, that of Contracting, to also leave it in the hands of Isabel Martín. Now, Bergaz maintains the other competence he had left -coordination of the spokesperson for the political groups- and adds Tourist Planning and Classified Activities.

In the case of Tourist Planning, until now it depended directly on the president, who thus renounces that area, although she continues to maintain others such as Land Management, Territorial Policy and the Environment. In addition, she adds two others, the Nature Classroom and the House of Volcanoes, which until now were held by Hugo Ricardo Betancort. He, for his part, will be in charge of the Waste area.

To assume her new responsibilities, Isabel Martín leaves the Department of Finance and Contracting, which from now on will fall to Rosa Mary Callero Cañada. In her case, she maintains one of the areas she held until now, Housing, but leaves Human Resources and Internal Regime.

The rest of the changes affect the Departments held by Andrés Stinga, who leaves Waste (now in the hands of Hugo Ricardo Betancort) and Classified Activities (which goes to Marcos Bergaz), but adds Human Resources and Internal Regime.

The remodeling does not affect the areas of the PP and all the other councilors maintain the delegations they already had. "The objective is to guarantee the efficiency of the services provided by the Institution from a new distribution of the management burden of the councilors", explained María Dolores Corujo.
