Coalición Canaria celebrates its VII National Congress from this Friday to Sunday with the only candidacy of the senator and former president of the Government, Fernando Clavijo, for the General Secretariat. As a result of the security measures imposed by the pandemic, it will be held in a semi-presential manner and with telematic connection from all the islands.

Clavijo pointed out this Thursday at the presentation of his candidacy that they have opted for "a team, not a person" and with a "program" to "do things well", while hoping that there will be "debate" in the organization.

The 330 delegates that make up the VII Congress will elect their new national management bodies (national general secretary and secretary of organization), which will mean a renewal in the leadership of the formation as the current national general secretary, José Miguel Barragán, has announced his decision not to run again.

On this occasion, and to guarantee the sanitary security marked by the authorities, a semi-presential form has been chosen, which will allow the Congress, whose central headquarters will be in Tenerife, to multiply its official headquarters, in addition to the connections abroad from Venezuela, Argentina and Uruguay.

In the case of Lanzarote, both the plenary and the presentation sessions will be followed from the Hotel Lancelot, while the delegates from the island of La Graciosa will join the headquarters of Lanzarote.
