"It is clear that we must ensure the care of the environment but making it compatible with life, with our day to day, as we have historically known how to do so well on this Island," says Migdalia Machín

Coalición Canaria Lanzarote, invites the Island Council to reflect and adopt a "reasonable position" regarding the celebration of the Rally Isla de Lanzarote, and to find "the balance and coexistence between the conservation of the environment and the development of one of the most important sporting events not only in Lanzarote but throughout the archipelago."

“It is clear that we must ensure the care of the environment but making it compatible with life, with our day to day, as we have historically known how to do so well on this island”, said the island secretary, Migdalia Machín, who adds that “we must not forget that this is a transcendental event for the battered economy of the island that is beginning to catch a little oxygen and recover after these years of stoppage.”

For his part, the island Secretary of Organization of the nationalist formation, Echedey Eugenio, regrets the "lack of foresight of the institution and recalls that three and a half months ago the organization requested the corresponding permits from the Cabildo."

“This is an event that is probably the one that attracts the most fans from all over the island, there are 140 media outlets accredited to cover it, are they informed a week after its celebration? It is clear that someone has not done their job”, says Eugenio.

Thus, given the controversy generated around this more than consolidated sporting event, the nationalists emphasize that on the same roads through which the test will run “cars circulate daily that have neither less nor greater impact from transit than rally cars”, and that an option that would help the requested balance is that "the entry of the public be restricted in those more sensitive areas".
