Coalición Canaria has denounced in the plenary session held this Tuesday in the Tías City Council the "deplorable" situation of public cleaning in the municipality. The nationalists lament “in addition to the widespread dirt on the streets, the bad odors that the neighbors have to endure due to the deterioration and lack of cleaning of the containers, as the City Council no longer has the truck that cleaned them daily”.
In this context, the nationalist municipal spokesperson, Amado Vizcaino, requested the Government Group for a "copy of the extension of the contract" with the company that has the service concession and asked "why" it has not been put out to public tender again.
In addition, Vizcaino reproached the Government Group that “after ten years since its award, the normal thing is that such an essential service would have gone out to tender again in a timely manner, because the needs contemplated in the current contract have varied greatly, starting with the considerable increase in the number of inhabitants in the municipality”.
In this sense, the nationalist spokesperson alluded to “even the change in legal regulations, which now establishes the installation of a fifth container on public roads, that of organic waste, something that the City Council "fails to comply with as it is not contemplated in the extended contract”.
Vizcaino considered “worrying that this City Council, and especially its mayor, is working without contracts again, such as the one for light and sound for events, which has led to the cancellation of some activities as the City Council cannot collaborate in its organization" as other times, as has happened with the La Tiñosa fishing competition, which will finally go ahead thanks to the extra effort made by the 'La Tiñosa Fishing Club'”.
Oddities of the plenary session
On the other hand, the spokesperson expressed his "strangeness" upon verifying that “at least two PSOE councilors got up from the plenary session so as not to vote on the motion presented by the PP to reject any type of amnesty or generalized pardon by the central government; vote in which CC abstained”.
Likewise, Amado Vizcaino expressed “our astonishment upon hearing the mayor address councilor Sergio García in the plenary session as councilor for Sports, when on October 11 the mayor himself signed a resolution revoking the appointment of Sergio García as head of said area”.
