CC has presented a motion to be debated in the plenary session of the Arrecife City Council "so that the House of Culture maintains its function of being a space open to the public, for the use and enjoyment of citizens, as is the case of the House of Youth, and does not become an administrative center, full of offices." And, according to CC, that "seems to be the intention of the mayor and the current Councilor for Culture", after the departure of the nationalists from the Arrecife government group.

In a statement, Coalición Canaria maintains that, after twelve years of waiting, "a living and active space was once again put at the service of all residents, with a wide and varied program that, from its inauguration to date, houses all kinds of artistic disciplines, and that has also become a space for the study, protection and dissemination of our heritage."

CC defends that the House of Culture "has thus been transformed into a meeting point that is also serving to debate the main issues of our city and that has become in just two months a reference point for culture not only in Arrecife but throughout the island." In addition, it recalls the words that the mayor herself, Eva de Anta, said on the day of its opening: "It is our intention to maintain the soul of a public, shared and generous space".

"After twelve years of waiting for the reopening of the House of Culture, we cannot allow its use to be denied to the residents of Arrecife", says the CC spokesperson in the Arrecife City Council, Samuel Martín.
