Although they have not yet officially confirmed it, the agreement would initially leave the Mayor's Office in the hands of CC councilor Chaxiraxi Niz.

Haria Town Council Plenary Session Approves the Cueva de Los Verdes Agreement

Coalition Canaria and the Municipal Platform of Haría of José Torres Stinga have registered this Monday the motion of censure that they have been negotiating for weeks to remove the Mayor's Office from the socialist Alfredo Villalba.

CC considered the pact it had with the PSOE in the municipality broken on October 27, after the division experienced by its own party in the Plenary where the addendum to the agreement of the Cueva de Los Verdes was approved. Since then, Coalición Canaria announced the beginning of conversations that had actually been taking place for some time, and that have materialized this Monday with the presentation of that motion of censure.

After La Voz advanced this news, CC has sent a statement announcing the motion of censure, but it does not explain who will be the Mayor. The nationalists simply limit themselves to pointing out that the motion of censure has been signed by four of their five councilors, Víctor Robayna, Chaxirazi Niz, Armando Bonilla and Alejandro Hernández, together with the councilors of the PMH, José Torres Stinga, Evelia García and Manuel Fernando Fontes, and that in the document they commit "to give stability to the municipality until the end of the present mandate". However, sources close to La Voz have pointed out that the Mayor's Office, at least initially, would fall to CC, to the councilor Chaxiraxi Niz. Afterwards, according to the agreement, halfway through what remains of the mandate it would pass to the Torres Stinga Platform.

The motion of censure does not include the fifth councilor of CC in Haría, Soraya Brito, who it must be remembered remained in the government group together with the PSOE when her party ordered them to abandon the pact.

"It was normal and logical after what had been shown. The political rule allows this type of issues, whether we like it or not, and we will continue working from the opposition", said the mayor of Haría, Alfredo Villalba, after learning the news.

"We leave with our heads held high and with the pride of having worked for the residents of Haría, it has been a pleasure", added the socialist, who pointed out that, in principle, it will be on November 23 when the plenary session will be held in which the motion of censure will be debated.
