The Arrecife City Council has installed new anti-fungal microfiber platforms for the showers on El Reducto and La Concha beaches, as well as access walkways through the sand for people with reduced mobility.

On El Reducto beach, according to the Consistory, the location of the showers has been changed "to make them more accessible", they have been equipped with anti-fungal microfiber platforms and "walkways have also been placed to the area for people with reduced mobility, so they can reach the seashore with amphibious chairs."

In La Concha, meanwhile, "a new adapted shower has been installed, also with microfiber platforms." Likewise, the City Council adds that, "within this policy of improving the services of use on the beaches", the shower on Playa del Castillo has been put into operation.

The municipal proposal falls within the "beach improvement and set-up plan", at a time of greatest influx of tourists arriving in Lanzarote and its capital, Arrecife.

In addition, the City Council affirms that the city continues to receive "thousands of visitors who are arriving in Arrecife and will do so in the coming months on the hundred cruises that are scheduled to dock in the port in this last quarter of the year, according to the schedule planned by the Las Palmas Port Authority."

The Arrecife City Council is simultaneously maintaining a cleaning campaign of the entire capital coastline, as a result of the agreement with the Canarian Employment Service and through the Arrecife Emple@ y Form@ 2021 program, through which it has hired "a team of laborers in charge of daily cleaning of some of the seven beaches available in the capital."

Finally, the City Council adds that the contract has already been signed "for the award of the Surveillance, Rescue and Lifeguard service of El Reducto beach to the company Pro-Activ Serveis for an amount of 160,000 euros for one year and with the possibility of an extension."
