Lanzarote will say goodbye this week to mild temperatures and cloudy days to welcome a new episode of heat this weekend, the second so far this year. According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), values will rise throughout the week and will be especially noticeable from Wednesday onwards. Although Aemet has not activated any warnings for the moment, it will be necessary to pay attention to the forecast.

For this Wednesday, temperatures of up to 27 degrees are expected in the central hours of the day, especially in the southern and southeastern half of the island. In the north, there will be cooler values, around 23 degrees. Likewise, calima will return lightly at altitude.

On Thursday, calima will remain present at high levels in Lanzarote and La Graciosa, and temperatures will continue to rise to reach a maximum of 29 degrees and between 15 and 18 degrees minimum. The central and southern part of the island will be where the heat will be most noticeable.

As for Friday, the rise will be more noticeable. Aemet predicts that values will continue to increase progressively to reach 31 degrees in areas such as Arrecife, Puerto del Carmen, or Tías. In the northern area, they will be milder, with temperatures of up to 26 degrees.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Lanzarote and La Graciosa will experience a sharp rise in values. On Saturday, temperatures of up to 36 degrees are expected in inland areas such as Tías or 34 in Puerto del Carmen. Thus, they will be milder in the north, reaching 29 in Haría.

Regarding Sunday, the heat will remain suffocating with no change in values. Temperatures of 35 and 36 degrees are forecast for the interior and south of the island, although higher temperatures cannot be ruled out. In areas such as Haría or Tinajo, the values will be 30 and 32 degrees, respectively. Minimum temperatures in Lanzarote will range between 18 and 22 degrees.
