The arrivals from the peninsula to Lanzarote has been falling for seven months

Detailed analysis: The months of February, December, and April lead the drops in arrivals to Lanzarote from the mainland compared to the previous year

A total of 207,523 people landed in Lanzarote from mainland airports between January and April, 7% less than during the same months last year when there were 223,109 arrivals, according to ISTAC data provided by the Lanzarote Data Center.

Just under half flew from Barajas (97,850 passengers), followed by Barcelona (34,847) and the Andalusian airports (33,210). 

Next, from the Basque (14,463), Valencian (14,305), and Galician (10,628) airports. Just over 2,000 people arrived from Asturias or Cantabria. 

The month that experienced the biggest decrease was February, when 44,793 people arrived from mainland airports, 12.3% less than during the same month in 2025. 

Next, April, with 56,705 arrivals, 8.4% less than those who arrived in the same month last year. In January there were 51,324 arrivals (-3.8%), while in March 54,701 people landed (-3.6%). 

 

Decreases also occurred in October, November, and December

The drop in the number of arrivals from the mainland this year adds to the decrease recorded in the last three months of last year. 

In December, 57,138 people arrived from the mainland, which represents 9.5% less than those who arrived in the same month of the previous year. 

In November, when 52,429 people arrived from the mainland, the drop was 5.4%, and in October, when there were 52,429 people, the decrease had been 5.3%.
