The Arrecife City Council will undertake in this first semester of the year the works for the rehabilitation of the exterior facades of two buildings in the vicinity of the church of San Ginés, which have just been awarded. In these properties, protected by Heritage, are located the offices of Festivities and Urbanism and the Technical Office, respectively.

The awarded company has been Mantenimientos Marmape, S.L., for an amount of 77,330 euros, taxes included, compared to the 99,081 euros for which it had been put out to tender. Once the works have started, the contractor has three months to complete the works.

The Government group led by the popular mayor Astrid Pérez says that "the recovery of the image of these properties, which are protected for their heritage value, was proposed." One of them housed the primitive classrooms of La Marina school, and inside is located the La Recova Market Square.

The other property, which is on the corner next to the City Hall building, was built to house the old Dolores Hospital. Currently it houses the offices of Urbanism and the Municipal Technical Office, and in the last decades of the last century XX was the headquarters of the PIOT Office of the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the initial headquarters of the Water Consortium of Lanzarote.

From the City Council of Arrecife emphasize that "the mandatory authorization of the Heritage Service and the corresponding tender for these works" has been processed. On December 30, the award announcement was made to the construction company.
