Aena's website already reflects the new name of the island's airport, Lanzarote-César Manrique. The Minister of Development, José Luis Ábalos, signed this Monday the order for the island's airport to be named after César Manrique, coinciding with the artist's centenary.
"I have just signed the ministerial order to make effective the change of name of the Lanzarote airport to César Manrique-Lanzarote, in memory of the legacy of the Canarian artist", published the minister shortly before 7 pm this Monday
For its part, the PSOE of Lanzarote showed its satisfaction for Pedro Sánchez's decision that the airport of Lanzarote be named César Manrique Airport, as requested by the Cabildo of Lanzarote at the proposal of the Socialist Party in that institution.
