Yurena Murillo and Carlos Betancort were crowned Miss and Mister La Salinas 2019, in a gala that was held on Saturday. Elizabeth Montoro and David Weber won the titles of Miss and Mister Zona Centro, while Alexsandra Smusenok and Juan Manuel Jiménez were crowned Queen and King of the Festivities.
The gala had 23 participants, sixteen girls and seven boys, and was directed by Carlos Alonso, director, choreographer and designer of the gala, together with a team composed of Nerea Viñoly, Francisco Alonso and Irina Betancort.
The title of First Lady of Honor went to Xiomara Martín, while the title of Second Lady of Honor went to Marta Campos. Melanie García and Faina Armas were chosen as Third and Fourth Lady of Honor respectively.
Also, Miss and Mister Elegance Alexsandra Smusenok and Juan Manuel Jiménez were awarded, the title of Best Face to Melanie García, Best Body to Yurena Murillo, Best Legs to Alexsandra Smusenok and Miss and Mister Catwalk to Yurena Murillo and David Weber. The misses and misters paraded in sportswear with the official shirts of the contest, in swimwear and in party attire.
Performances and raffles
The gala began with this year's fantasy, which was the 20s, with an exclusive cabaret-style design by Carlos Alonso and an opening by choreographer Fran Vega. In addition, during the contest the singers Brando and Yaslaura performed and there were raffles of different prizes, including dinners in restaurants, a mobile phone and a Smart TV.
The jury was composed of Fernando Doreste, sponsor of the gala and businessman; Jonás Ruiz, hairdresser and professional makeup artist; Valentina Gallego, Miss Las Salinas 2013; José Luis Ortega, Miss Gay Lanzarote 2010, Gay Diosa España 2019 and president of the jury table; Alba Codorniu, Miss World Lanzarote 2018; Sergio Blanco, professional photographer and official photographer of the contest; Joaquín Molina, Miss Gay Lanzarote and Las Palmas 2013 and Global Mundo 2014; Alexandra Noble, Miss Turismo Gran Canarias 2017; Ezequeil Delgado, transformist and Miss Gay Las Palmas, and Ani CAbrera, businesswoman and secretary of the jury.
Pre-gala in Tahíche
Before the contest, last Saturday, December 14, a pre-gala was held in Tahíche, where different prizes were also awarded, such as the titles of Miss and Mister Tahíche, which went to Elizabeth Montoro and Carlos Betancort.
Sheril Brito and Juan Manuel Jiménez were chosen as Miss and Mister Simpatía, while Tahimi Vázquez won the titles of Miss and Mister Photogenia. Fátima Estévez and Juan Carlos Jiménez were awarded for the Best Attitude of the Contest.
