José María Espino kicked off the Titerroy festivities. The opening speech by the former mayor of Arrecife took place this Thursday in the hall of the Benito Méndez Tarajano School. This 2008, the Patron Saint Festivities in Honor of San José Obrero began with controversy, since, as Ismael Montero, president of the Neighborhood Association of the capital neighborhood, commented, they had a budget of 1,900 euros and the stage was still half finished this Thursday. But finally, the confrontation between the City Council and the Association has been resolved.
According to Montero, after the meetings held this Thursday, an agreement has been reached. As there is still no Councilor for Festivities, several Areas have joined forces to carry out this celebration: Sports, Neighborhoods, Social Services, Youth and Culture. In this way, for example, the Sports area will take care of the trophies to be awarded and the Social Services area will take care of the events for the elderly. On the other hand, the stage, which also marked part of the confrontation, because it was still half assembled, has been set up this Friday.
The president of the Neighborhood Association has thanked the City Council for its involvement, and in this way, until May 3, Titerroy will enjoy these festivities.
