The facilities of the Sara animal shelter suffered another robbery on Tuesday night. According to the association, a person accessed the warehouse by breaking the entrance door and one of the walls, only to take "a suitcase with second-hand clothes."
"We don't understand why they break in, when there's nothing here. We store what people donate there, things they don't use and that we separate and take to flea markets to get some money," they explain from the association to La Voz. In fact, the biggest concern of the shelter is "the damage caused," which implies a large economic expense for them.
"We never tire of saying that we have nothing," they reiterate from the association. Sara has already filed a complaint with the Civil Guard, which has launched an investigation to try to find out the perpetrator of the damage.
From the shelter they place special emphasis on the fact that the only thing they have of value are the animals. "It is for the only thing that we come here, day after day, selflessly," they add. In addition, fortunately Sara has a group of people who collaborate in maintaining the facility in good condition, such as a company of Englishmen who this Thursday have repaired the door and the wall of the warehouse, in an "altruistic" way. "They are the same ones who, when they destroyed our office, offered and placed a new high-security door for us. We will always be eternally grateful," adds the shelter.
It should be remembered that it is not the first robbery suffered by the animal shelter, since last February they also suffered one that caused significant damage inside the premises. "We suffer robberies every few months, and in none of them have they been able to take anything, because we have nothing. The only thing they do is destroy," they conclude from Sara.
