December 3 2009 (16:03 WET)

Friday, December 4 is the date chosen to inaugurate the Puerto del Carmen Christmas Market. At 6:00 p.m. in the Plaza de las Naciones, on Playa de los Pocillos, the mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, and the Councilor for Tourism, Gertraud Gfooller, will kick off this event that will be held until December 8. It can be visited from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Among the products that can be found are pastries of all kinds and origins (English, German and Spanish), jewelry, handicrafts (fabric, costume jewelry, glass, felt, leather?), cigars, painting, and a long list that complete their positions.

Food, music and children's activities

In addition, there will be an area dedicated to the sale of food products where you can taste everything from typical Canarian food to woofles, including mulled wine, salmon or German sausages, among other products. For this purpose, a space with tables will be set up so that visitors can sit down.

The amphitheater of the square will also have its prominence in these days thanks to the various concerts that will be held every day. All kinds of styles will be included by artists such as Gary Newxton (guitarist), Scartunes, Jazz Group, German Choir, Charanga, Gayda, Guágaro, Agrupación Güerma, Liberty Dance or Claudio (bongos).
