Nearly 250 students from the Costa Teguise Institute cleaned Famara beach last Friday, in a solidarity day. "It was a fantastic and sunny day. The kids did an incredible job for a couple of hours and had sports activities," explained the deputy director of the Institute, Salvador Medina.
Students from the second, third and fourth years of ESO and Baccalaureate participated in this activity. The older ones were in charge of coordinating the different plots that they cleaned along the beach. In addition, garbage collection areas were set, which had access for vehicles.
With this initiative, the management of the Institute intended to "raise awareness among the students", who also received previous talks, so that "it would not remain a festive activity, but that they know the importance of having clean beaches." "We wanted to have a day of coexistence and we thought of this activity that they could all share together", Medina pointed out.
