Rosalía Díe Lorenzo has been the winner of the I Elisa Betancort Delgado Painting Contest, organized by the social and cultural association for Women Mararía. Díe's work, entitled 'Woman on the road', has won the award of the first edition of the contest, co-financed by the Association itself and the Department of Culture of the Arrecife City Council.
The work has been chosen from among the 56 pictorial proposals received by a jury composed of artists of notable trajectory from the island of Lanzarote. The Mararía association, for its part, has been "satisfied by the high participation in this first Contest and by the quality of the works presented".
"The pride is double, both for the success of the project and for the possibility it has given us to pay tribute to the artist and dear colleague of ours, Elisa, sadly deceased but immortalized in our memory for her extraordinary human quality and the sensitivity and beauty of her creative universe", they point out.
