The General Directorate of Emergencies of the Government of the Canary Islands has declared a pre-alert situation throughout the archipelago due to the wind.
Emergencies relies on the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) and other available sources to warn the population of the possible risks associated with the gale.
The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has extended the yellow warning for wind on the island until next Thursday.
Specifically, according to Aemet, the adverse weather phenomenon is expected to begin on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. and last throughout Thursday.
The warning estimates that there will be maximum gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour, being stronger on the southeast and northwest slopes of the island. Aemet reports that the probability is 40 to 70%.
