Aemet extends the yellow warning for wind in Lanzarote until Thursday

Maximum gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour are expected, being stronger on the southeast and northwest slopes of the island

The State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has extended the yellow warning for wind in Lanzarote until next Thursday.

Specifically, the adverse meteorological phenomenon is expected to begin on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. and last throughout Thursday.

The warning estimates that there will be maximum gusts of up to 80 kilometers per hour, being stronger on the southeast and northwest slopes of the island. Aemet reports that the probability is 40 to 70%.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, Aemet expects maximum wind gusts of up to 81 kilometers per hour in Tías, for Thursday afternoon, and up to 74 kilometers per hour in Yaiza.

While for Thursday it estimates gusts of up to 65 kilometers per hour between 12:00 and 6:00 p.m. in the afternoon.
