Sonia Viera Tortosa was crowned Queen of the Maneje festivities and Lucía Dellaqua took the title of Miss Maneje 2013, at the gala that took place last Saturday and which served to kick off the festivities in the neighborhood. The gala, directed by Oswaldo Cabrera, celebrated its fifth anniversary this year.

The twelve girls opened the show with the Xtrem Up group, with confetti over the sky and encouraging all the public attending. The event was presented by the Lanzarote natives Demelza Viña and Jenni Curbelo and the jury was made up of Carmen Montero, Miss Las Palmas 2000 and finalist of Miss Spain 2001; Dani Morales, councilor of the Ayuntamiento de Teguise; Sara González, Queen of the Maneje festivities 2011; Yeray López, Caballero Las Palmas; Monia Grande, owner of Fruccio Puerto del Carmen; Pedro Vizcaíno, president of the Sur Caliente comparsa; Adrian Martín, photographer of Miss Las Palmas; Ana María Reyes, Lanzarote dressmaker; Rayco Montengo, personal trainer, and Luis Fernández who acted as secretary.

The twelve candidates for Miss made several passes both in bikini and in gala dress. There were musical performances by the Fashion School groups, Xtrem up, the singers Mary Eugenio, Laura and Yadira Betancort and the performances of the dancers Sirenia and José Carlos, Egoizt and Atenea, Davinia, Cristopher and Marcos. In addition, there was also a parade by Maguy González, Queen of Maneje 2012 and Hieri Alvárez, Miss Maneje 2012, who were in charge of crowning the new Queen and Miss 2013.

The rest of the titles of the gala went to Marta Rodríguez, elected First Lady of Honor of the Queen of the festivities; Melania Hernández, First Lady of Miss Maneje; Cristina Barco, Second Lady of Honor of the Queen of the festival; Patricia Curbelo, Second Lady of Honor of Miss Maneje; .Amina Derra, as Miss Sympathy; Melania Hernandez, elected Miss Photogenicity; and Lucía Dellaqua, who also took the band of Miss Elegance.
