Lanzarote maintains three active outbreaks of coronavirus, as reported by the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands. The main one corresponds to the Monkey party held on August 1 in Puerto del Carmen, which already has 14 positives and 69 related contacts under follow-up.
The other two are of minor importance and are related to family reunions and national tourism.
In the rest of the Archipelago there are 30 active outbreaks, 23 in Gran Canaria and 7 in Tenerife. According to the Ministry of Health, two of the outbreaks in Gran Canaria are related to migrants arriving in boats to Mogán and Agüimes. Another 2 are linked to nightlife in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria: one with 114 positives and 114 under follow-up and another with 20 cases and 5 under follow-up. There is also another one linked to a birthday celebration with 14 affected and 5 contacts in Tejeda, Gran Canaria.
As for Tenerife, they have to do with a party of friends in La Laguna that caused 25 positives and 131 contacts under follow-up.
In addition, the Ministry adds that another 15 outbreaks are classified as social/family; two outbreaks are hospital outbreaks (1 in Tenerife with 43 infections and another in Gran Canaria with a total of 13 people, of which 3 are hospitalized).
