While the indicators have skyrocketed in practically all of the Canary Islands with the unprecedented rebound in cases in recent days, Lanzarote has become the island with the lowest incidence of Covid-19. In fact, it is the only one that is at low risk both at 7 and 14 days.
Of the rest, three are at maximum risk. Tenerife was already there since last week and Fuerteventura joined it and now also La Palma, although in its case, for the moment, only in the accumulated incidence at 7 days.
For its part, Gran Canaria is at high risk, as is El Hierro, while La Gomera is at medium risk. Thus, the only island at low risk is Lanzarote, with 20 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 7 days (compared to 189 in Tenerife, 160 in Fuerventura or 103 in Gran Canaria).
At 14 days, Lanzarote is this Monday at 45 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, La Gomera at 78, La Palma at 134, Gran Canaria at 156, El Hierro at 251 and Tenerife at 351.
In addition, Lanzarote is also the only island that has not reported cases in people over 65 years of age in the last week. However, Tenerife is at high risk in this indicator, while Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and El Hierro are at medium risk. And it is that although the highest number of infections is occurring in young people, these are also reaching the elderly more and more.
