Daily Covid cases rise to 469 in the Canary Islands and more than half are still being recorded in Tenerife

The Canary Islands has added 469 new cases of coronavirus in the last day. In addition, active cases have risen to 5,874, after 103 discharges have also been reported. However, in the last 24 hours there have been no deaths due to Covid in the archipelago.

More than half of the new Covid cases have been registered in Tenerife, which has added 269 positives and has 3,966 active cases. For its part, Gran Canaria has reported 147 new cases and has 1,366 active cases, and Fuerteventura has added 32 positives and has 332 active cases.

La Palma has increased its cases by 12 and has 110 active cases, La Gomera has added five positives and has 14 active cases, and Lanzarote has registered four new cases of Covid and its active cases are 67. El Hierro is the only island that has not added new cases of Covid in the last day, although it has 17 active cases.

The cumulative incidence at seven days in the Canary Islands stands at 138.15 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 237.18 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

The total number of accumulated cases in the Canary Islands since the beginning of the pandemic is 65,658 and, of the 5,874 that are active, 39 are admitted to an ICU and 245 are on hospital wards.

As of this Monday, a total of 1,680,371 diagnostic tests have been carried out in the Islands, of which 4,754 correspond to the last day.
