The PCRs announced by the Canary Islands Government for the start of the school year will be carried out in all schools in Arrecife and will be carried out on all teachers and students of the same, as confirmed to La Voz de Lanzarote from the Ministry of Health. However, as they have transferred from the same, the tests will not be carried out individually, but using the 'pooling' technique.

This technique consists of doing PCRs in groups, so that the extractions obtained from several people (usually around 20) are mixed in a single sample and analyzed together. If the result is negative, it is understood that everyone is free of Covid, while if it is positive, then individual tests must be done.

It should be remembered that classes will finally start in person throughout the Canary Islands and that the regional government announced the performance of PCR tests throughout the next week in the areas of greatest incidence, such as Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Arrecife, to "identify asymptomatic people with the aim of controlling the appearance of possible outbreaks as soon as possible and carrying out a control of the virus in areas considered strategic".
