A merchant from Costa Teguise has publicly pointed out continuous altercations in a commercial area of the tourist town. According to the owner of one of these premises to La Voz, every week groups of young people cause disturbances in the area, without allegedly doing anything to prevent it.
Specifically, the events, which have led to several calls to the police but have not yet been officially reported, take place periodically in the vicinity of the Calypso shopping center.
In one of the images that this media has been able to access, a young man can be seen in an apparent state of intoxication, stumbling down the street to the point that he falls to the ground. Meanwhile, other people watch him and he ends up lowering his pants zipper and showing his genitals to the camera.
According to this testimony, this incident adds to many others, where merchants in the area have been affected by shoplifting and theft of food from customers in restaurants. In addition, he assures that "it is increasingly difficult to walk alone because anything can happen to you at night."
At the same time, he points out that if they try to get the problematic people out of the premises, they receive insults and the thieves look for a way to take revenge.
