The National Police have arrested in Arrecife a 40-year-old male for an alleged crime of attempted homicide, after violently assaulting another person on public roads.
The events occurred on June 10, around 6:00 p.m., in the vicinity of a bar. National Police officers went to the scene after receiving a notice from a witness who witnessed a fight in the street.
Upon arrival, the officers found a person unconscious on the ground, bleeding from the chest and back, and surrounded by a pool of blood. Immediately, he was attended by the health services and transferred to the Doctor José Molina Orosa University Hospital.
According to the testimonies collected, the aggressor stabbed the victim several times, both from the front and from the back, and gave him strong blows to the head, leaving him unconscious. The Judicial Police took charge of the investigation and extended the search in the area, managing to locate the white weapon hidden in an electrical box in a building near the events, it was collected by Scientific Police for analysis.
The victim remained admitted to the ICU due to pneumothorax and blood loss, and was later transferred to the ward once stabilized.
After the investigation, the detainee was brought to judicial disposition as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of attempted homicide, ordering his immediate imprisonment by the duty judge.
