The approximately 67 workers that the garden care company Garden Care has in Lanzarote will go on strike on the 11th if their situation is not resolved. Specifically, the first strike will be from five in the morning on the 11th until twelve at night on the 12th. If a solution is not reached, the employees will start a new strike, in this case of an indefinite nature, starting at five in the morning on the 17th. This will mean a complete paralysis of the services offered by this company whose main work is carried out "in the Union for the Conservation of Costa Teguise, although also in other parts of the Island", explained the Secretary of Trade Union Action of CC OO, Ramón Pérez.

The workers have several requests that after several meetings have not materialized. All of them are related to compliance with the collective agreement and involve raising their professional category in order to obtain more salary, giving them the so-called green payment, having more tools to develop their work or implementing measures to avoid occupational hazards.

Meanwhile, and according to Ramón Pérez, it seems that the company has taken some reprisals against the workers. Thus, they would have been required to sign a paper in which they expressed whether or not they would attend the strike, and the union is waiting to confirm some dismissals.
