The Arrecife City Council will organize a solidarity wrestling match in support of the young Tanausú Hernández, who after suffering an accident on the beach became quadriplegic. Noemí Hernández, the sister of this young former fighter of the Guadarfía Arrecife Club, requests help for Tanausú, who "needs a very expensive treatment in a specialized clinic, located in Toledo."

Noemí Hernández recalled during a press conference that the tragedy came to her house on August 13, when her brother suffered a serious accident on the Jablillo beach, in Costa Teguise, after jumping into the sea from a rock and injuring his spinal cord.

From this moment on, the sporting life of this young fighter was cut short, who remains hospitalized in the Insular Hospital of Gran Canaria. There he will have to undergo a rehabilitation treatment that will last at least six months, before being transferred to the National Hospital of Paraplegics of Toledo.

According to Noemí Hernández, although her brother's situation is extremely serious, doctors advise the family to continue with this treatment, "since there is hope that Tanausú can recover mobility in his body."

This is the reason that prompted the president of the Guadarfía Wrestling Club, Jonás Nóbrega, to address the Department of Sports of the Arrecife City Council, with the aim of jointly organizing a charity wrestling match in support of the young Tanausú Hernández Domínguez, to raise funds to cover this expensive treatment. "It is the best way that this wrestling club, his club, can help him and his family in these difficult times," explained Nóbregas.

The wrestling match will be on Sunday

In this way, the City Council has organized, together with the Guadarfía Club, a solidarity wrestling match, which will be held on next Sunday, December 19, at 12:00 noon, in the Wrestling Arena of the Lanzarote Sports City, which has been ceded by the Island Council.

The fight, whose entrance can be purchased at the box office at a price of five euros, will bring together great and outstanding pillars of Canarian wrestling, such as Juan Espino "El Trota", Álvaro Déniz "El Pollo de Moya", Agustín Mayor, Carlos Moreno, Francis Aísa "el Piraña", Andrés Guillén, Juan Bonilla "El Piojo", among others. With a capacity of 2,000 people, the organizers expect a full house to help this young former fighter "who needs the solidarity of all the people of Lanzarote."

Checking account and raffle

In addition, a raffle of Christmas baskets and shirts signed by players for two euros a number has been programmed, in which numerous companies and sports teams such as Real Madrid, the University of Las Palmas and Tenerife have collaborated. Likewise, a checking account has been opened in La Caixa, with the number 2100-6869-00-0200021507, for all those who want to collaborate with this charitable cause.
