The residents of Altavista celebrated the big day of the festivities in honor of their patron saint San Antonio María Claret, also the patron saint of journalists, with a mass and subsequent procession around the Church of the neighborhood.

At 6:00 p.m. the celebration of the Eucharist began, presided over by the parish priest of Haría, Norberto Medina, who was assisted by Nicanor Bermúdez, parish priest of Altavista and Valterra. The songs for the celebration were accompanied on the piano by Josefina González,

Before the end of the celebration of the Eucharist, this year the parishioners witnessed the blessing of the new altar where the image of the Immaculate Conception is located.

Next, the procession began through the streets adjacent to the Church, a journey with much recollection, songs and prayers. Upon returning to the temple, the image of San Antonio María Claret was dismissed with cheers and applause.

Dance with Pal Porrón to end the festivities

Immediately afterwards, the public present moved to the hall of the Padret Claret Neighborhood Association to share a meal, a gift from the Board of Directors, consisting of a rich tuna in marinade, wrinkled potatoes, cheese, bread, wine, water, soft drinks and for dessert a varied selection of delicious homemade sweets.

The Parranda Pal Porrón enlivened a lively dance with songs of very varied genres, bringing to an end at midnight a day marked by the good coexistence between neighbors and visitors in the festivity of San Antonio María Claret.
