Nearly 700 pigeons will compete in the XIV Pigeon Derby 2010

The period for collecting and registering pigeons to participate in the XIV edition of the Isla de Lanzarote Derby 2010 has ended with almost 700 birds registered.

The success of the call is evident when reviewing the registration figures for the derby with a total of 576 birds, to which must be added another 119, which will compete in the speed section.

They will depart from Africa

The Island Sports Service of the Council, under the Department of Youth, Sports and Road Safety, which is coordinated by Rubén Placeres, has already closed the process of collecting birds for the traditional Pigeon Derby and for the 2010 speed championship, which will be held on January 23 of next year, so those who wish to participate in it will have to wait until the 2011 edition.

As is usual in this test, the release of pigeons from the competition final will take place at some point on the African coast, which has not yet been specified as of today.
