The Guardamar Polimnia rescued this Wednesday 25 immigrants, 19 Maghrebi and six sub-Saharans, including a woman and a baby, who were sailing in a boat about 28 kilometers from Haría, Efe sources from Maritime Rescue have reported.
The immigrants have been transferred to the Commercial dock, in Arrecife, by the Guardamar, which located the boat after being notified by the Civil Guard that it had detected a small boat in the area.
Although the woman and the baby were apparently in good health, both have been transferred to the Molina Orosa Hospital as a protocol and, in this way, to ensure that they do not present any problem.
Salvamento personnel, the Helimer 206 aircraft and the Salvamar Mizar, are trying to locate the occupants of another boat that left from Tan Tan, Morocco, and was 83 kilometers from Fuerteventura when one of the people traveling on board called the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center of the Government of the Canary Islands.
Sources have indicated that a third alert has been received from another small boat, but that the boat is in Moroccan territory, so the Rabat coordination center is assuming its rescue.
