The 'Summer School 2023' of San Bartolomé has already begun, in which dozens of activities will be carried out in the CEIP San Bartolomé and Playa Honda for the more than 200 registered children.
The mayor, Isidro Pérez, and the Councilor for Education, Culture and Festivities, Estefanía Luzardo, have visited the facilities of both centers to learn about the work that will be carried out throughout the month of July. The number of registered students amounts to 106 in San Bartolomé and 112 in Playa Honda, "a great success in participation in this initiative that is so well received edition after edition," says Pérez.
From the hand of eight monitors and two coordination managers, the Summer School 2023 will offer sports, musical activities, aimed at developing creativity, imagination, emotional education, strengthening bonds of friendship, respect, tolerance and companionship.
It also has five professionals hired by the City Council through the Employment Plan and a disciplinary team made up of two psychologists, two social educators and two social integrators.
Pérez recalls the mandate objective of continuing to make San Bartolomé "a space for enjoyment for all ages, with opportunities to live and grow playing, working from this City Council to guarantee the right to education in equal conditions and always with an integrating perspective".
The Summer School 2023 also has the support of the PFAE of Socio-health Assistance, as well as the educational and therapeutic support of the company 'TACTO' and the collaboration of the associations 'SentirTEA' Lanzarote and 'Creciendo Yaiza', in order to promote inclusion.
With the possibility of early and late reception, the Summer School aims to be a "dynamizing tool for children's leisure" with the creation of "inclusive spaces", providing alternatives for an active month of July in which to promote "social relations from new spaces". It also pursues "meaningful learning" and is also an instrument to "facilitate the reconciliation of families", concludes the City Council.
