It has been slowly prepared in the kitchens of San José Castle for more than half a year: ideas that are debated, refined recipes, and dishes adjusted until reaching their optimal point. The result is a renewed gastronomic proposal that combines creativity, character, and identity.

The counselor of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers, Ángel Vázquez, shows himself “enthusiastic and very excited” with this new stage that opens in the restaurant of San José Castle. “We have built a proposal that will surprise more than one client based on the work and creativity of our kitchen professionals and the advice of the best specialists in the sector”.

The quality local product is the axis of a menu that reflects the identity of a restaurant that is “history and heritage of Lanzarote” and that, at the same time, seeks to improve the quality of the customer experience. “Beyond its format, it conveys what we are as an island and our eagerness to continue improving,” it adds.

Thus, it is now possible to sit in the restaurant with the best panoramic view of Naos Bay to enjoy creations such as the Iberian ham croquettes from San José Castle, the Wreckfish Gilda, or the 3-tomato salad, with creamy olives and basil. Of course, you can also opt for the Creamy potato with Galician-style octopus, the Hake ravioli with Aurora sauce and aniseed, the Canarian tuna in teriyaki sauce or, if not, succumb to the charms of the Creamy cheesecake, crumble and red fruit ice cream.

“Signature haute cuisine for a restaurant that we want to be a benchmark of our cuisine,” assures Vázquez.

Growth in revenues and recognition of the model

The restaurant of San José Castle closed the year 2025 with an income of 672.282,71 euros, which meant a growth of 13.9% compared to the previous year.

“Beyond the figures, our clients perceive the effort we are making to position our restaurant based on a proposal rooted in local produce, creativity, and excellence,” highlights the counselor. A line of work that has served the emblematic restaurant to obtain various distinctions, among them, its recent nomination in the category Best modern Canarian reflection cuisine 2025 in the XIV edition of the regional Qué Bueno Canarias awards.
