The National Police answered more than 200,000 calls in the province of Las Palmas in 2023

The 'Intelligent Command, Communication and Control Center' received 500 calls a day, including police emergencies and humanitarian services

The National Police, which celebrates 200 years serving citizens, answered "more than 200,000 calls" in the province of Las Palmas last 2023. The 'Intelligent Command, Communication and Control Center' (CIMACC) of the province of Las Palmas covers the three Canary Islands, that is, it receives calls made to 091 from the islands of Lanzarote, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria, being at the service of citizens to help and inform them of any incident in which they may be involved.

The function of this control center in the province, popularly known as the 091 Room, is of utmost importance to attend to all emergencies that arise in the demarcation of the National Police. Within all the calls received throughout the past year, adding up to more than 200,000 calls, some 500 calls received per day, at least 60,000 were police emergencies themselves and of these, more than 2,000 were humanitarian services.

The rest of the calls, among others, that the control center receives are for police procedure inquiries, advice on processing complaints, care for elderly people, and calls from other police districts that the National Police processes with other security forces.

Within police emergencies, the work of this control center is to coordinate all police units based on the intervention of the agents who are on the street and provide all the resources
necessary for each action. The work of the national police officer in the control center is of utmost importance, since the communication between the control operator and the operative on the ground provides an immediate response to the uniqueness of each intervention.

This historical milestone marked the origin of what we know today as the Police of all Spaniards, so this date undoubtedly has great relevance for the future of our country. Therefore, among other functions, we want to highlight the importance of the work of CIMACC, through the telephone 091. The officials of the control center work uninterruptedly 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The 'Intelligent Command, Communication and Control Center', in short, is one of the first resources that citizens have at their disposal from the National Police. A nerve center, where, depending on the user's requirement, an immediate response will be given to their needs.
