Paralympic athlete Miriam Martínez was last week enjoying her vacation in Lanzarote. In the photos, you can see the athlete in corners of the island such as Charco de los Clicos, on the terrace of a bar in Arrieta or eating in a restaurant in El Golfo.

Martínez won the silver medal at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games in the shot put event.

The athlete had to leave the Army and her dream of becoming a pilot at the age of 22 due to myocarditis. Years later, she began to have problems performing everyday actions, until she went to the hospital for paralysis in the left part of her body. Finally, it turned out to be a neurodegenerative disease that causes brain damage.

Despite her illness and the medical complications that arose around the Paralympic Games, she was able to compete and get on the podium
