Environment has presented a sanction proposal against the far-right organization Hazte Oír for placing a sticker against the president of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, in a protected natural space in Lanzarote.
The Area dependent on the Cabildo de Lanzarote initiated a file for administrative infraction against the ultra group, based in Madrid, for "alteration, destruction or deterioration" of the signs of this protected space for having placed an adhesive over the official signage of the space. The organization faces a minor sanction, with a fine of 150 euros, the minimum possible in these cases.
The recognition by the ultra group of the facts and the voluntary payment before the resolution will allow the amount to be reduced by 40%, leaving the sanction at 90 euros, if it waives "any action or appeal" against the final resolution.
This file was initiated as a result of a complaint filed by a citizen who alerted of the placement of umbrellas "as a means of political protest" on the Papagayo beach, in the Los Ajaches Natural Park in August 2025.
The Environment agents of the Cabildo de Lanzarote went to the beach the day after that protest was reported, on August 31, and after gathering testimonies indicated that the umbrellas had been placed for 30 minutes. The abandonment of those umbrellas would have been considered as "abandonment of waste," pointed out the report to which this media has had access. However, a testimony corroborated that they had been removed. At the site, they verified that the association had placed a sticker over the signage of the protected natural space, committing a possible administrative infraction.
For the moment, it is unknown if the administration has taken administrative actions against Hazte Oír for the umbrellas it placed on Bastián Beach, in the municipality of Teguise, near the La Mareta Residence, when the socialist president was spending a few days on the island. According to a witness reported through La Voz, several of these umbrellas ended up in the sea.
