Storm Regina has lashed Lanzarote in the early hours of this Wednesday with wind gusts that have exceeded 100 kilometers per hour, according to data collected by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).
The maximum gust was recorded in Haría, where the wind reached 102 kilometers per hour. In the rest of the island, significant values were also recorded, especially in areas exposed to the north and west.
In La Graciosa gusts of up to 70 km/h were measured, while at the Lanzarote Airport the wind reached 84 km/h. In the municipality of Tías 88 km/h were recorded, in Tinajo 76 km/h and in Yaiza 69 km/h.
These records confirm the intensity of the episode associated with Regina, which has left a day marked by strong gusts, isolated incidents and caution in coastal areas and on the road network. Aemet recommends extreme safety measures given the forecast that strong wind intervals will continue in the coming hours.
For this Wednesday Aemet maintains the orange warning for coastal phenomena and the yellow warning for wind.
