Arrecife will have about 50 video surveillance cameras throughout the city

This Friday, November 17, the deployment of the first 20 video cameras that will allow real-time monitoring of traffic and security will be presented.

Arrecife premieres a video surveillance deployment with the installation of about 50 cameras in different neuralgic places in the capital of Lanzarote. The Operational Control Center is already in service with the signals received in real time with the deployment of these cameras.

The mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, and the Chief Commissioner of the Local Police, José Antonio Lasso, will show this operational center and the deployment of the first 20 video cameras this Friday, November 17. The city, within the modernization plans, is working to have up to 50 video cameras covering all areas of the municipality, allowing the Local Police to monitor traffic and security in real time.

The mayor, also the direct head of the Local Police, Yonathan de León, has announced that this deployment of the first 20 video cameras has been executed in parallel with the new Traffic Light network of Arrecife. A network that has allowed the execution of works in the subsoil for the implementation of the municipal fiber optic through which the information of each of these first 20 video cameras circulates to the Control Center.

Arrecife also put out to tender the system for the supply of another batch of video cameras that will be added to the current deployment that is working, and that will cover the municipality with about 50 units. A tender that will be reported in detail by the first mayor of the capital.

The presentation, open to the media, will be this Friday, November 17, 2023, at 10:00 am. The Control Room is located in the central building of the Local Police of Arrecife, recently opened (Calle Vargas number 2).
