The Civil Guard arrested on December 22 two young men from Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz) and residents of Playa Blanca, as alleged perpetrators of 46 crimes of robbery with force in different hotel complexes in the town.

It was in October when the Civil Guard of Yaiza began an investigation, following several robberies focused on hotels in the tourist area of Playa Blanca. The robberies were always perpetrated in the same time slot, and with a similar modus operandi. Specifically, they jumped over the wall or fence surrounding the hotel grounds and, once they verified that there was no one in the room, they forced one of the exterior windows to gain access to the interior and steal various items.

According to the Civil Guard, "after establishing a coordinated surveillance service in the vicinity of the places where the events occurred, on December 22, two people were caught in the act jumping the fence of a hotel compound in possession of several items of illicit origin, as well as the material used to facilitate the criminal activity".

The Civil Guard proceeded to arrest these two people, as alleged perpetrators of 46 crimes of robbery with force and 9 misdemeanors. Likewise, most of the stolen items were recovered, which once recognized by their owners were returned to them.

Once the proceedings were completed, the detainees were placed at the disposal of the Arrecife Duty Court.
