A 72-year-old man has been rescued by the GES helicopter after suffering a fall in the Montaña Roja caldera in Playa Blanca. The incident took place at around 12:00 noon this Monday when the Emergency and Security Coordinating Center (CECOES) received an alert reporting that a male had suffered a fall in a difficult-to-access location, could not continue his journey, and required medical assistance.

Firefighters from the Security and Emergency Consortium and local police officers have traveled to the scene. The firefighters accessed the area and placed him on a stretcher, which they used to transport him to the location where the GES helicopter was waiting to take him to Lanzarote airport. There, the medical personnel treated him for a moderate leg injury, barring complications. Once assisted, he was transferred in a basic life support ambulance from the SUC to Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital.
