A complaint filed in Lanzarote has led to the arrest of two people as alleged perpetrators of a continuing crime of fraud through social networks and websites for buying and selling objects. According to the agents, the arrested offered Reborn dolls on demand for a value of 500 euros, "requesting an amount of money as an advance by bank transfer, but not making the subsequent shipment of the dolls."

The first complaint was filed last November at the Civil Guard post in San Bartolomé. Then an investigation was initiated by agents of the Territorial Team of the Judicial Police of Costa Teguise, who located at least six other crimes of similar characteristics that occurred in the provinces of Malaga, Seville, Cadiz, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Badajoz.

As a result of these efforts, the alleged perpetrators were located in the province of Seville, requesting the corresponding support for their arrest from the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of Seville. The arrested are a 35-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman, both of Spanish nationality and with the initials J.J.M.M. and Y.V.A.

Parallel investigation from Cádiz

While this investigation was taking place, the Civil Guard of Tarifa (Cádiz) also became aware of similar events and began its own investigations, locating another six alleged scams. Thus, they traveled to Seville to locate and arrest the alleged perpetrators.

As a result of both investigations, the detainees are charged with a total of 13 crimes, with the amount allegedly defrauded amounting to 3,210 euros. The investigation has been left in the hands of the Arrecife Court of Instruction, although the detainees were brought before the corresponding duty court in the town of Seville.
