The Judicial Police are asking the relatives of the individual who appeared [drowned->https://www.lavozdelanzarote.com/article.php3?id_article=159] last Friday in Playa Bastián, Costa Teguise, for identification.

He is a man between 50 and 55 years of age, 1.83-1.85 tall, with an athletic build, and at the time of his discovery, 70 meters from the shore, he was wearing beige swimwear.

The Civil Guard continues to investigate tourist resorts and apartments to see if the deceased was on vacation on the Island.

According to the coroner's report, when the body was recovered by the Red Cross lifeguards, he had been dead for more than four hours, so he could also have been dragged from another beach. Both Local Police and Civil Guard of Teguise went to the scene, but so far there are no clues about the identification of the deceased, nor have relatives or friends who have claimed the body been identified. Since then, the State Security Forces have not received any report of disappearance.

Last Friday at around 6:00 p.m. several witnesses alerted the Red Cross to the presence of the victim's body, when the body was about 70 meters from the shore. Neither the ambulance nor the two aquatic lifeguards who moved from Las Cucharas Beach to Playa Bastián could do anything to save the victim's life, who had died hours before his rescue.
