Six members of a gang, including a minor, have been arrested after attempting to assault the La Geria winery and rob other properties.
According to La Provincia, the arrests occurred on Saturday, after they tried to force the entrance of the winery around 5:30 p.m. and were surprised by a security guard, fleeing.
After that, the members of the gang broke into a house on Caldera de Taburiente street in Playa Quemada, where the Civil Guard and Local Police went after being alerted by the neighbors.
Faced with the police presence, the members of the gang fled on foot along the coast, but finally the agents managed to corner the assailants with the help of neighbors, who had been following their trail for days after committing a series of crimes, including the robbery of other properties in different towns.
Specifically, the security forces were monitoring the vehicle with which the gang was traveling, and which had served as transportation to move around Lanzarote and commit the robberies.
The intervention allowed the arrest of six people, aged between 16 and 35 years. The action involved the Local Police of Yaiza, and the Rapid Intervention Group of the Civil Guard of Lanzarote.
