Several thefts and damages on some boats in La Graciosa raise the alarm among residents

The port of La Graciosa has suffered several robberies and damages in recent weeks. Encarna Páez, a resident of the eighth Canary Island, told La Voz that this Sunday her husband went to the boat and saw that the battery had been stolen.

This resident decided to ask several residents of La Graciosa if they had also suffered robberies and was surprised by the answer. "One told me that the pump to bail water from the boat had been stolen, while another told me that the oars of his skiff had disappeared," Páez said.

But these are not the only cases. Another boat owner also had a battery stolen, while another neighbor has found the diesel tank full of sand and water on two occasions.

"There are two guards in the port of La Graciosa and we pay for our mooring. I don't understand how this can happen," said Encarna Páez, who is going to report these events. La Voz has tried to contact Puertos de Canarias, which manages the port of La Graciosa and is in charge of surveillance in the enclosure, but has not provided any information in this regard.
