One of the perpetrators of the assault that took place on Friday night on Triana Street in Arrecife has been arrested by the National Police, while the other managed to escape and has not been located so far.
Initially, the Coordinating Center for Security and Emergencies reported that the assault occurred within the framework of a fight, given that the aggressor who has been arrested also suffered injuries, but police sources have confirmed to La Voz that the origin was in an attempted robbery.
According to these sources, the event began in the vicinity of the gas station on Gómez Ulla Street, when two men tried to rob another, asking him for his mobile phone.
When he refused, they threatened him with a knife and a bottle and then began to beat him, causing injuries to his head and various parts of his body, although the most serious was the one caused with a sharp object in the thorax.
The alleged perpetrators tried to flee the scene, but one of them was intercepted by the agents with bloody hands and a knife. After his arrest, he was transferred to the Valterra Health Center to receive medical attention because he had some minor injuries.
As for the victim, who, like the alleged assailants, is of Moroccan origin, had to be transferred to the Molina Orosa Hospital.
