Agents of the Citizen Attention Operative Group (GOAC) of the Local Police of Arrecife arrested this Wednesday, August 6, at approximately 5:00 p.m., a man against whom there was a judicial arrest warrant and presentation in court, in effect since the beginning of the month, for an alleged breach of sentence.
According to a statement from the council, the events occurred when the agents, during a routine patrol, observed a driver committing several traffic violations, which is why they proceeded to stop him. Once the vehicle was intercepted and its driver identified, the agents verified that he had never obtained a driver's license, which is why he was charged with an alleged crime against road safety (DCSV).
During the identification process and consultations in police databases, it was confirmed that there was a valid judicial order against this person, which led to his immediate arrest and subsequent transfer to police facilities, remaining at the disposal of the court.
The Local Police of Arrecife emphasizes the importance of the investigations carried out in each intervention, the cooperation with other Security Forces and Corps, and the firm commitment of this Corps to citizen security and compliance with the law in the streets of the capital of Lanzarote.
