Four people were injured, including a baby of only seven months, in a house fire in Arrecife. The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday to Thursday at 3:00 a.m.
At that time, the Coordinating Center for Emergencies and Security (CECOES) 1-1-2 of the Government of the Canary Islands received several alerts reporting a fire on the second floor of a two-house block on Managua Street, in the Maneje area, in the municipality of Arrecife. 1-1-2 immediately activated the necessary emergency resources.
Personnel from the Security, Emergencies, Rescue, Prevention and Fire Extinction Consortium proceeded to extinguish the fire and ventilate the house.
SUC personnel assessed and assisted the injured, a seven-month-old baby who, at the initial time of assistance, had a mild burn on his lower limb. They also attended to a 29-year-old man who had a mild burn on his lower limb.
The paramedics also assisted a 23-year-old woman who, at the initial time of assistance, presented smoke intoxication and a mild anxiety crisis. The last affected was a 50-year-old woman who presented a mild ankle injury.
Once assessed, three of them (the baby, the 29-year-old man and the 23-year-old woman) were transferred to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital in a medicalized ambulance and another basic life support ambulance.
The Local Police and National Police Corps collaborated with the emergency services and instructed the corresponding procedures.
