The Civil Guard of Tías has arrested five young people accused of a robbery committed in an industrial warehouse and of burning a vehicle.
A statement from the Armed Institute indicates that a major robbery occurred inside an industrial warehouse in the La Rinconada area of the municipality of Tías.
The criminals, after forcing a door with a drill, stole a large amount of material, including a welding machine, seven large grinders, a blowtorch, three electric drills, two large battery chargers, two sanders, a paint gun, a hydraulic jack, a pneumatic riveting machine, numerous tools of all kinds (sets of hexagonal keys, sets of screwdrivers, halogen spotlights, padlocks, 20 meters of hose, etc.), all worth 12,000 euros.
Burnt van
Then, they fled the scene in a van parked outside the warehouse, which had the keys in it. The vehicle was later found abandoned in the area known as La Machacadora de Tías, and they set it on fire, completely burning it. It was valued at around 8,000 euros.
These criminal acts prompted an immediate investigation by the Civil Guard of the Main Post of Tías, whose agents, after intense investigations, managed to locate the alleged perpetrators. The young people Y.S.R., 20 years old, R.H.R., 19 years old, A.F.M., 18 years old, along with two minors (14 and 17 years old), all residents of the town of Tías, were arrested.
The Civil Guard also managed to recover all of the stolen material, which has been returned to its rightful owner.
The two detained minors have been placed in the custody of their parents or legal guardians, while the three adults have been placed at the disposal of the Court of First Instance and Instruction Number Five, acting as Duty Judge in Arrecife.
