Firefighters from the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium have extinguished a small fire that occurred in Galerías Rosa on Tuesday afternoon. Although it has not had major consequences, the fire has generated a large column of smoke, according to the manager, Enrique Espinosa.
Firefighters received the alert before 5:00 p.m. and arrived at the scene to put out the fire. In total they have needed to use two water trucks.
Apparently, a person carelessly threw a cigarette butt into an area where garbage and wood from the company had accumulated. The cigarette butt ignited the waste and wood, which caused this fire, which had already been extinguished shortly after it broke out.
